Local Boys

As we let our two eldest sons take to the seas for first time here in the Philippines, we were pleasantly surprised by their adaptation to the local way of life!  Both Isaac and Joey are strong swimmers anyway, but we didn’t expect them to act and turn into a couple of the local boys so quickly.  Their joy in exploring the clear tropical waters and the never ending pursuit of catching a brightly coloured tropical fish with their hands kept them busy for many hours.

We were then surprised to see them mount the balancing arms of a local charter boat which takes the visitors both foreign and local between the mainland and the Island we were visiting.  You would have thought these boys had been here all their life as they sat and launched themselves from the boat while the tourists took photos of them – not sure whether they thought our boys were some very different looking locals or just a couple of crazy young foreigners enjoying the warm welcoming seas of the Philippines.  Either way, we felt very proud to see the boys embracing everything that has been thrown at them for their first time visit to the Philippines.
